Trying New Things

I made crackers today, my first attempt. One day I was munching on some saltines and thought that I should try to make my own. How hard could it be?

I found fairly simple recipe, that included flour, baking powder, salt and olive oil. The recipe called for rolling out small balls of dough into thin circles. I got the thin part, but the circles, nope. My cracker shapes looked like odd free style shapes that in no way resembled a circle.

I baked them until they were done and set out to cool. I can see the reason for the holes that are in regular crackers. It helps crisp them up a bit I think. Next batch, I will poke holes in them before baking.

But all in all, they taste fine and will go with cheese and wine just fine. Not bad for a first attempt.
