It’s the holiday weekend and since Mitch has to work I’ve been reduced to drinking alone. And not one to let a weekend go by without wine, I bought a light white wine that I know Mitch wouldn’t like, so I won’t have the guilt of not sharing a good bottle of wine with him. Don’t get me wrong, this wine is a nice wine, just not something he would like.
I opened a bottle of Chateau Ste Michelle Harvest Select Sweet Riesling, vintage 2014 from Columbia Valley, Washington. The wine was a pale yellow in the glass and when I stuck my nose in the glass I could smell a light aroma of pears and apricots. The wine was light on the tongue and not overly sweet as the label would lead you to believe. It was a medium sweet wine, that tasted like pears with an apple finish. The alcohol content was 11% and cost under $10 a bottle, so I didn’t break the bank just to get my wine fix.
Unless you are a staunch dry wine only person, this is a nice light summer wine that is very easy to drink sitting on the patio or deck with good friends or all by yourself. You can find them at http://www.ste.michelle.com.
Happy 4th to everyone and a toast to you all.
Stay safe
